VISION
P771K envisions a school community in which every student has equitable access and opportunities to grow, learn, self-advocate, and become a meaningful contributor to society.
MISSION
As members of a collaborative and nurturing environment, every student will have individualized support in acquiring social, emotional, literacy, and academic skills to become independent adults who are college and/or vocational bound.
To accomplish our mission, we:
- Improve student achievement in all academic areas through data-based targeted instruction
- Maintain an effective system of positive behavior supports tailored to the needs of individual students
- Work to move students to Least Restrictive Environments (LRE)
- Engage families as partners in the educational process
- Create multiple pathways to college/career readiness and assess students using multiple types of knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviors important for life skills and entry into college and/or the work force.
- Allow students to have a voice about their education and their individual goals
- Allocate resources towards Culturally Responsive Teaching.
- Use professional learning communities to ensure shared decision-making among staff
- Provide staff with appropriate, comprehensive, and on-going professional development
- Develop positive self-esteem and social growth for the entire school community
- Work with all P771K teams to strive towards Equity and Excellence for every student.
- Foster a positive school climate for students, staff, families, and the community
